Wood Block Printing 201: 2 Color (For Women and Non-binary Makers) April 28th 1-5
Woodblock Printing 201 is a slightly more advanced version of the 101 course started last year, digging deeper into the ever-surprising wood-ink-paper relationship. 201 is designed for anyone who has some recent (or vivid) experience in relief printing, especially in linoleum or wood. In this class we will carve two 4x6 shina plywood blocks to create a two-color print (note, this is not a reduction printing process, so you will be able to print these blocks again). There will be more focus on precise carving and registration for printing, and multiple color combinations available.
Students should come prepared with designs. The process works best with a light color and a dark color or two colors that overlap well together. I will email students 2 weeks in advance with more detailed instructions (contact email@example.com if you sign up within the 2 week window).
