Cabinets 101: Build a Medicine Cabinet (all gender-no gender) Wednesdays 6-9pm Jan 15-29
Knowing how to build a cabinet means you know your way around a shop and can handle a variety of tools. In this class we will build a medicine cabinet for you to take home. You’ll learn the basics of how to make a face-frame, working with sheet goods (plywood, melamine, or mdf), and the elements of cabinet making. We’ll work with the table saw, the miter saw, drills, and hand tools. This class is intended to familiarize students with the essentials of a commercial cabinet shop, to both build skills that you can apply at home or potentially assist you towards a career in the trades. All levels welcome.
This class meets on Wednesdays for 3 consecutive weeks from 6:00-9:00 pm January 15th, January 22nd, Jan. 29th. Please plan to attend all three classes.
Students might also benefit from attending Open Shop on Tuesday January 21st and Tuesday January 28th if more time is needed to keep their cabinet on track to finish with the group or if a class was missed due to unforeseen circumstances.
Students should have eye/ear protection, a tape measure, pencil. If you do not have your own, you can use what is available at the shop.
Class fee: $225
Materials fee: $60 (paid directly to Instructor on January 15th, cash or check)
