Build a side table during this 6 session class. Learn mortise and tenon joinery while getting familiar with power tools (tablesaw, mitersaw, circular saw, drill press) and hand tools (japanese saw, chisels, mallets, scrapers, and block planes).
Each table will be made from mahogany and be 14" x 20" wide and 18" high for the perfect side table.
Each student will receive their own chisel and shop techs will presharpen chisels for students. YOU WILL HAVE HOMEWORK! Please be prepared to work on your table at home between classes. Homework time can range from 1-3 hours per week. You will be able to check out tools from the woodshop to take home if you do not have them (wood clamp, c-clamp, mallet, scraper).
Materials fee is $60-$80 to be paid by cash or check to the instructor.
