Joinery 101: Japanese Tea Trays + Butterfly Joint (For Women & Non-Binary Folks) February 3, 1-4
In this course we will learn how to use traditional hand woodworking skills to make a Japanese style tea tray with a butterfly joint inlay. We will start with a piece of walnut and a bowtie-shaped piece to insert. Using chisels and knives we will carve out and inlay it into the wood. We will finish the piece with sandpaper and a hand-rubbed oil finish. You will leave this class with a completed tea tray ready to use.
